Columbia Astronauts

IMG_1558
From an elementary school in East Multnomah County.

Here's the photo they used. Do you think the Columbia Disaster impacted kids in 2003 the way Challenger did in 1986? Space exploration is on my mind a lot, having just watched When We Left Earth. Oh, and WALL-E.

School Courtyards

Things that school courtyards have in common:
- not used regularly by students or staff
- visible to students and staff thanks to a breezeway or hallway
- very pretty
- some sort of project has been started, possibly abandoned

Case 1: George Middle School, Portland Public Schools, North Portland, built in 1952, 328 students

Smoky Night

I'm very fortunate to visit many schools in the Portland area as a part of my job. I'd like to share some of the artwork I see.
Elementary School Students created portraits inspired by the story Smoky Night.
